Holyoke Die Cut Card Company (Part 2)

On January 3, 1950, the Holyoke Sales Company name was abandoned, as the business was incorporated as the Holyoke Die Cut Card Company, Inc.

In 1951, the Borowsky family made an in-family transfer of the real estate where Holyoke Die Cut Card was located. Portions of the mill were under existing leases to Cellulose Fibers Inc., Hampshire Paper Company Inc., Tracies Inc., Martin and Julius Zanger, as well as Holyoke Die Cut Card.

In 1955, the company was producing the cardboard Backing for Holyoke's Ready Inc.'s new disposable dust mop. The company continued to seek steel rule die workers and press operators.

On August 3, 1957, company founder, Marciene E. Whitcomb, died. The business continued to operate at 541 Main Street, Mr. Whitcomb's sons, Marciene R., James R., and Delevan E. Whitcomb.

More changes were forthcoming as the business was growing, more space was needed, and a major relocation was on the horizon.
