Scratchit Pad & Paper Company (Part 11 - In the Shadow of I-391)

A March 1968 news account reported that a new start-up business, Scratchit Pad & Paper Company, had begun operations at 647 Main Street. This was also the location of Sheldon Transfer & Storage Company, which owned the property.

The business operation entailed production and distribution of scratch pads and sheeting, where rolls of paper are cut into a variety of different sizes.

If this company had any longevity, it was a quiet operation. All news accounts indicate Sheldon Transfer & Storage remained at this address through 1976. There were no other news accounts for online newspapers nationwide.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Secretary of State's Office, showed no corporate or partnership filings under this name. The firm did not own real estate within Hampden County. For purposes of this installment, this was a dead end.
