TRW Holyoke Wire and Cable Company continued to operate as a subsidiary of TRW, Incorporated. In the fourth quarter of 1969, Holyoke Wire and Cable was awarded the RCA Consumer Electronics Outstanding Performance Award.
In 1970, Michael X. Andrews, who led Holyoke Wire and Cable's rapid growth and expansion from the 1940s through the late 1960s, died in Florida.
In 1972, TRW Holyoke Wire and Cable Company announced it would relocate to 775 New Ludlow Road, South Hadley, Massachusetts. The company entered into a long-term lease agreement with the Holyoke Regional Business Development Corporation for the 117,500-square-foot facility.
At the time, the plant at 720 Main Street housed administrative offices and some manufacturing, while the plant at 1 Appleton Street handled extrusion and cable assembly.
In January 1973, Holyoke News Company purchased the real estate at 720 Main Street, and Jeremiah T. Downing purchased the factory building at 1 Appleton Street.
This marked the end of Holyoke Wire and Cable Company's 63-year operation in Holyoke. As of this 2026 account, 116 years after its initial organization, the company remains in operation at the South Hadley location under the corporate name EIS Wire and Cable.
