Ebbets Field was a Brooklyn landmark in the Flatbush section and home to the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team from 1913 to 1957.
Holyoke had its Ebbets Field, which was sometimes referred to as Beaudoin Village, the housing project in which it was situated. While Ebbets in Brooklyn was demolished in 1960, Holyoke's Ebbets Field rose and was dedicated on August 21, 1960. All proceeds collected from spectators were contributed to the Jimmy Fund.
The park was located in Beaudoin Village on the north side, beyond the east end of the Lt. Clayre P. Sullivan School parking lot.
Ebbets Field was built to host mighty-mite and pee-wee baseball. A four-foot chain link fence surrounded the park. Youth league football tryouts were also held there.
On March 29, 1967, the Holyoke Parks & Recreation Department voted to eliminate Ebbets Field due to continuing drainage problems. The field would be replaced by one at the nearby Sullivan School.
A portion of the former ballfield now appears to be utilized as a community garden by the residents of Beaudoin Village.
